Mosquitno Bandz and Spotz – Natural Insect Repellant: A Product Review

Mosquitno Bandz and Spotz – Natural Insect Repellant: A Product Review

mosquitno-1One thing I absolutely cannot stand is a horde of mosquitoes that swarm in and ruin my peaceful and relaxing evening.  I’m very lucky because in the morning and for the rest of the day they are nowhere in site, but at around 9:00pm I just want to rip my hair out (whatever hair I have left) and throw all the patio furniture at them that I can get my hands on!  I’ve tried to get rid of them using different methods such as mosquito coils and burning egg cartons but thankfully there is a new product available by Mosquitno that works even better!

Mosquitno is a manufacturer of natural insect repellant products and they currently have two different products available: Mosquitno Bands and Mosquitno Spotz.  I’ll go over them below.

Bandz:mosquitno-2

The Bandz are basically an extremely durable elastic band that’s infused with all-natural citronella which you wear around your wrist like a wrist band or bracelet.  The nice thing about the product packaging is that it features a resealable top so if you only need to use the band for a few hours at a time you can simply put it back into it’s resealable package to preserve it’s effectiveness.  The band will last for approximately 6 days or 150 hours of exposure which is great.

mosquitno-3The bandz are safe, non toxic, deet-free and are also waterproof so you can wear them while you’re swimming.  Besides mosquitoes, the Bandz also help to repel flies, gnats and no-see-ums.  And lastly, to make things even more fun, they are available in 12 bright colors including Glow-in-the-Dark, Camouflage (for all you survivalists out there) and Tie-Dye!  There’s also a smaller size available for kids.

Spotz:mosquitno-7

The spotz are round heavy duty stickers which are infused with all-natural citronella.  You can stick them practically anywhere such as on hats, shirts, shorts, shoes, the side of your tent, on backpacks or bug out bags and they last for up to 3 days or 72 hours of exposure. Again, they are safe, non-toxic and deet-free just like the bandz.  They are available in 6 different themes and are safe for kids over the age of three.

mosquitno-6Conclusion:

Both of these products smell really nice and work well at repelling those annoying insects and are something you should keep on hand.  Putting a few of these into your bug out bag or including in your camping gear is also a great idea. You never know when a swarm of mosquitoes will catch you off guard and having a safe, natural and effective way of dealing with them is a definite plus!

Keep in mind that both these products will be less effective on windy days, but then again, I never usually have a problem on windy days anyway.  I did notice, however, that they were also less effective while swimming but that should be a given since they aren’t exposed to the direct air when submerged.  Basically, the more you can smell them, the more they are working.  If you find the mosquitoes aren’t being kept at bay you can simply open another band and have double the protection.

For those of you who are environmentally conscious and want to recycle as much as you can, Mosquitno has a nice recycling program for their Bandz.  For every 10 bands that you send in, they will send back two new ones which is great!  You can check out Mosquitno’s website by clicking here!

Disclosure of Material Connection: I received the Spotz and Bandz for free from Mosquitno as coordinated by Deep Creek PR, an Outdoor Industry Public Relations Company in consideration for review publication.
